Back & Neck Pain Physio in Athy

Back and neck pain are among the most common reasons people see a physiotherapist. The good news is that most back and neck pain is not serious and improves with the right approach. Changes such as disc bulges or 'wear and tear' are a normal part of ageing and often show up on scans in people with no pain at all, so you rarely need a scan to get started.
How we help
At your first visit we listen to your story, assess how you move and check for anything that needs a doctor's opinion. We then explain what we've found in plain language and agree goals with you, whether that's sitting at your desk comfortably, lifting your children or getting back to the gym. The best evidence supports staying active, reassurance and a tailored exercise programme. Hands-on treatment, dry needling or Pilates-based exercise may be used alongside this to ease pain and help you move more freely.
Your plan
1. Ease pain and restore movement.
2. Build strength and control in your back, hips and shoulders.
3. Return to full activity, with a home programme you're confident with.
Cost
Initial consultation €80, follow-up session €70. If one-to-one Pilates or strength and conditioning would help your recovery, these sessions are €60.
How many sessions?
Most people need around five sessions. We review your progress against agreed milestones at each visit, and our aim is to get you managing on your own as soon as it's appropriate.
